 Beijing Institute of
Opto-Electronic Technology (BIOET) was set up in 1974. It is one of the key institutes of
scientific research in Beijing. It is an appointed institute for the prefessional works of
laser field designated by the Bureau of Machinery Industry and a domestic appointed unit
responsible for TC 76 "Optical radiation safety and lase requipment" of IEC
(International Electrotechnical Commission). In BIOET, "Beijing Trial-producing Base
for Medical Laser Instrument " was established in 1996 and approved by Beijing
Municipal Commission for Science and Technology, "Beijing Laboratory for Laser
Measurement Technology" was established in 1997 and approved by Beijing Natural
Science Foundation,"Medical Laser Instrument Engineering Research Centre" was
set up and approved by State Pharmaceutical Administration of China in 1998. The
department of Laser Parameter Testing Technology in BIOET is appointed as "Beijing
Laser Parameter Testing Centre (BLPTC)" by the State Commission for Science and
Technology; BLPTC has become "National Laser Testing Centre" and "Laser
Device Product Quality Supervision and Inspection Centre of the Ministry of Machinery
Industry". BIOET is vice-president unit of "China Optics and Opto-Electronics Manufacture Association (COEMA)", "Laser Branch" and "Medical Optical Instrument Commission of China Medical Devices Association". BIOET is the Seat of Laser Branch of COEMA and of Beijing Optics Society. BIOET is in downtown Beijing. It covers nearly 7190 m2 and there are 10537 m2 of building. In BIOET there aremore than 200 staffs including about 100 of engineer, senior engineer and over 70of skilled worker.
BIOET's staples are medical laser instruments, material processing laser equipment,laser inspecting devices, optoelectronic products, commercial utomatic machine,office automatic unit and so on. In BIOET there are the departments of Lasers, Application of Laser Spectroscopy,Laser Holography, Laser Medicine, Laser Processing, Laser Inspecting, Optoelectronic Technology, Laser Crystal, Optical Special Process Technology, Laser Parameter Testing, Commercial Automatic Machine,Office Automatic EquipmentandInformation of Technology and Economics. There are also machine shop and optical processing shop. BIOET is an institutional unit belong to ownership by the whole people, but since 1984, BIOET has born most research expenses and production cost by increasing income. BIOET has users all over the country. Its products have been sold tothe states such as South Korea, Singapore, Thailand, India, Spain, Hungary, Italy and Russia. BIOET's products is of high quality and comes up to world standards.

applications of laser technology and optoelectronic technology.BIOET goes in for the
research and the extended application of laserparameter testing methods and instruments,
and for the services of laserparameter testing tobegeared to the needs of the whole
